Since we are headed into summer I am thinking it would be a good time to mix things up. Offer a couple new labor bag color choices. As of now we offer a pink, blue and lime labor bag in a tote and duffle bag size.

What other colors would you all love to see offered? Red maybe or how about a simple black?

Let me know what colors catch your eyes. Also, is there a new product line you have heard about or tried that you believe will make a great addition to the labor bag, if so just let me know!

My new product that I can't live without!

My baby boy is now 10 weeks old which means I have had 10 solid weeks of little sleep and the bags under my eyes are telling my tale to all. The first few weeks my concealer was doing the trick but sadly not anymore. So I decided to break out my Belli Eye Brightening cream. It is a life saver!

I was out for a walk with my toddler and newborn when we stopped to chat with another mother along the trail. That is when for the first time since before I had "Q" someone said that I look rested. She asked if the baby was sleeping through the night. When I said no, she couldn't believe it. She said, "But you look so rested, how are you doing it?" That is when I let her know about my eye cream life saver.

This eye cream is cooling and gets rid of the dark circles and puffiness. I highly recommend any new mother to have this cream.

You will be so thankful that the circles are gone and you look wide awake, even when your not!

What was packed in my labor bag?

We have all heard the stories about the infamous hospital bag. Everything from the nerve racking experience of trying to know what to pack, packing it in time and what was and wasn't used. These stories were the main drive behind founding It's Time labor bags.

We wanted to take all the questions and worrying out of this process so expectant mom's can check this off their list with ease. During my hospital stay I took mental notes of the products I used, what I loved and what was just not for me.

I decided to customize my own bag. I decided on the All About Me duffle bag and packed it with a set of Veronica pajamas in blue ( I just had a feeling I was having a boy), the Belli Pregnancy Pampering collection, Belli Motherhood Essentials kit, Earth Mama Angel Baby Happy Mama Spray, It's Time Hygiene kit, plush socks, Biggs & Featherbelle lip balm and a towel.

I used everything except the lip balm. My lips were just not as dry this time around. I believe it was because I had a scheduled c-section this time and didn't go through labor all day long before having the c-section.

My absolute favorite product was the Belli Pregnancy Pampering collection. The body wash was amazing and I felt like a million bucks after using it along with the body lotion. The rejuvenating scent of lavender oil, chamomile and cucumber left me feeling like I had just stepped out of the spa.

The All About Me duffle bag, in lime, was the perfect size for me. I brought my lap top, a book, and clothes to go home in. Everything fit with plenty of room left over.

Since Quincey was in the NICU the entire time in the hospital I didn't use the Belli Hand Sanitizer in the hospital, but since we have been home I use it every time we are out and about. I love it!

The It's Time Hygiene kit speaks for itself. I used everything and still have product leftover that I will use the next time we go out of town.

Earth Mama Angel Baby Happy Mama Spray was a great pick-me up while in the hospital and at home. I use it everyday and have come to depend on it for a quick mood lifter. It is amazing how much the smell of something can alter your mood in seconds. A good thing for us moms of newborns that only have a few seconds at a time for ourselves.

Quincey, as we call him, arrived via scheduled c-section on February 9th at 2:46pm! He was a good size weighing in at 7lbs 15 oz and 21'' long. Although he felt a bit light for me considering his big sister weighed in at just under 9lbs when born and is now a solid 28lbs and 34'' tall at 20 months : )

Everything went according to plan. I woke up that morning and did a final check through my It's Time labor bag and added in my camera charger. Once we arrived at the hospital things went like clock work. They got me situated in pre-op and was promptly wheeled off to the OR at 2:30pm as scheduled. After Quincey arrived and after a quick photo op with Quincey, daddy and I, he was taken away to recovery.

He only stayed in recovery for a few minutes before being moved up to "Transition". This was because his breathing was a tad fast and they believed he had some fluid still in his lungs. He was there for a few hours before moving him on to the NICU for a closer look and further examinations. He remained in the NICU for the remainder of our hospital stay. It took him a while longer to absorb the fluid in his lungs and to slow his breathing.

It was scary and nerve racking having Quincey in the NICU and not being able to hold him for the first couple days. For my entire stay his situation was a bit rocky and we were never really sure if he would be discharged with me or not. After many prayers he was able to be released the same day as me. It was a great feeling knowing that we would come home together.

The whole experience opened my eyes a bit more to how precious life is. Nothing is guaranteed.

Just about ready...

My delivery date is fast approaching and I am frantically racing around my house to get it together. My biggest fear is that I will have the baby and my house will be in complete chaos! Some women begin nesting in the second trimester, not me. I get the nesting urge the last week or so. It was the same with my daughter.

I have finally gotten everything for the baby, organized my daughter's room and closet (since these two munchkins will be sharing a room), and I have, or course, got my labor bag ready and waiting for me on my dresser!

Now to do the final checks on my list, clean out my closet and clean the house. Once those are complete I plan to put my feet up, relax, relax and relax some more! Wish me luck!

Chapped lips?

Like many other women I find that my lips stay chapped throughout the winter months. I have finally gotten fed up with the same old same old chapstick. So, I figured I would test out my Biggs & Featherbelle Soul Kiss lipbalm from my labor bag. I love it!

It is all organic and has a satin feel to it. My cracked lips healed up within three days of using it. This is definetly going to come in handy when I am in the cold, sterile air of the hospital.

The lip balm has a distinct smell. Balsamic, came to mind when I put it on for the first time. It was a refreshing scent in an unexpected way. Subtle enough that you won't notice after a few minutes and is not over powering. Another note, because it is all organic it should not irratate my newborn's skin if I have it on while giving my little one lots of hugs and kisses.

I chalk Biggs & Featherbelle lip balm up as a keeper. I have a feeling it will be a lifesaver during my hospital stay.

Tired of the itchy belly? Try this!

Now that I have reached the point in my pregnancy where my skin is so tight and itchy on my belly, I decided to try out the Belly Oil by Belli Skincare from my labor bag.

It has worked wonders! My belly no longer itches like crazy and the oil has a nice soothing lavender scent. A little definitely goes a long way with this belly oil. I put a drop about the size of a quarter in my hand, let's just say that I had enough to go around my belly a few times!

I also used the oil on my c-section scar from the birth of my daughter to help with the itching and stretching of the scar as well. Again, it feels great and didn't irritate the scar one bit. I have tried other lotions to help with the itching but they just don't work and rub off too fast.

Take my word for it, you will not be disappointed!

New Year, New Adventures!

It has been a long while since we have blogged. The end of 2009 proved to be hectic and surprising for Monique and I (co-owners of It's Time, llc). We both found out that we are expecting in early 2010 within weeks of each other. We are both excited but were very surprised! Hence where the chaos began for us..lol!

Now that we have begun 2010, we are determined to embrace the new year and all the new adventures to come with newborns, sibling rivalries and growing It's Time labor bags.

There will be product reviews, bonus promotions available through our blog only, pregnancy updates and information gathered from other experts on everything from maternity to motherhood.

When did you pack your labor bag?

Were you one of the few mother-to-be's that was prepared when it was "time"? Or were you like the rest of us and didn't have a clue what to pack and had nothing packed for the hospital? Most of us spend time researching on the web or reading all the baby books to find the secret or the perfect list of what to pack and take with you when "It's Time".

Personally, I had to go in for induction and the night before I remember spending the majority of the afternoon and that evening making sure I had everything that the baby and I was going to need. The truth is that when I arrived at the hospital and half way through the day I realized I forgot socks, lip balm and pajamas. But I did remember to bring my hair straightener, blow dryer and my lip stick. Those things were not very useful.

Our goal here at It's Time labor bags is to take all the guess work out of packing your bag.

If you are wondering what our story is or how we came up with our business you are in luck!

Monique and I have been friends for some years now. We met through our husbands as they were stationed together with the Marines in Tennessee. We are no longer stationed together and have managed to stay in touch over the years and changes in both our lives.

We recently reunited and chatted away like old friends do. We began discussing the birth of my daughter and the births of her daughter and son. We spoke of each others experience in the hospital, etc. We both discovered how ill prepared we were for our hospital stays and began fantasizing of a product or service that prepared everything for you. Then we had our "Aahh" moment. We figured why have someone else do it, when we could do it ourselves. That was the start of our brainstorming session and the birth of It's Time, llc.

Since that night we have learned a lot, hit a few rocky paths, redirected our idea and opened up shop. We are very proud of our business and hope to help a lot of expectant women relax and stop stressing over what goes in their hospital bag.

When it is "time" we don't want mama-to-be to worry if she remembered her socks but to focus on the birth of her new bundle of joy, we remembered the socks!
